What's a pilot you ask? It's the first episode produced in almost every TV show that is ordered by the network. The network looks at the pilot and decides to either make that episode into a series or whether to pass it, for whatever reason. Sometimes the pilot outright stunk or maybe it was too expensive or maybe the network didn't have the nuts to go through with it. The following are the pilots being ordered for POTENTIAL series for the 2012-2013 series. Not all of these pilots will get picked up, and some of the new series that air in that season may skip the traditional pilot season.

About: A beautiful female photographer (Hannah Ware) begins a torrid affair with a powerful male lawyer (Stuart Townsend). This gets complicated when the lawyer and the photographer's wife are deadlocked in a fierce trial.

Does it Fit the Network: It certainly does and I wouldn't be surprised if this gets paired with Revenge.

Will it Be Good: This adaption comes from an experienced showrunner and has managed to attract a pretty good cast. Betrayal seems to have potential.

Will it Be a Hit: This could very well be a modest performer for the show but it will entirely depend on the chemistry between Hannah Ware and Stuart Townsend.

Name: Big Thunder Mountain

Creator: Jason Fuchs (writer of Pitch, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Rags)

Based on the “Big Thunder Mountain” roller-coaster ride

Other:

Director: Rob Bowman (Emmy Nominee, director for Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-files, and Castle and director of Airborne, The X-files (film), Reign of Fire, Elektra)

Producers:

Jason Fuchs

Alex Hassell (Bonkers, Cold Mountain, Anonymus, The Sick House)...Abel White

Alex Meraz (The Twilight films)...Kiowa

Ruth Bradley (Grabbers, Primeval)...Nora

Spencer Locke (Resident Evil series, Cougar Town, Twentysixsmiles)...Lizzie

About: A doctor moves to Big Thunder with his family for a better life only to find supernatural elements at play.

Does it Fit the Network: It certainly matches the network's trend for risky programming. It helps that Disney owns ABC and the roller coaster ride creating a lot of corporate synergy-and it would pair well with theme park-friendly Once Upon a Time.

Will it Be Good: The cast is relatively unknown but this might have been done on purpose. It's difficult to tell if this will good but I'm currently doubtful...it looks like it'll be another Zero Hour.

Will it Be a Hit: It might have the brand-name of the roller-coaster ride (similar to Pirates of the Caribbean) but television western is a dead genre. It has a supernatural element but that only limits the potential audience. The unknown cast is going to make this even a tougher sell. It's a gamble but not one I would bet on.

Name: Gothica

Creator: Matt Lopez (writer of Bedtime Stories, Race to Witch Mountain, The Sorcerer's Apprentice)

Other:

Director: Anand Tucker (director of Saint-Ex, Hilary and Jackie, Shop Girl, And When Did You Last See Your Father?, Red Riding: The Year of Our Lord 1983, Leap Year)

Producers:

Matt Lopez

Tara Butters (co-creator of Reaper, producer of Law & Order: SVU and consulting producer of Dollhouse, Chaos, Terra Nova, and Hawaii Five-O) [Tapped as Co-Showrunner]

Michele Fazekas (co-creator of Reaper, producer of Law & Order: SVU and consulting producer of Dollhouse, Chaos, Terra Nova, and Hawaii Five-O) [Tapped as Co-Showrunner]

Mark Gordon (producer of LAX, Reaper, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, Army Wives, Private Practice, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy)

Nicholas Pepper (producer of pilots Dark Horse and Americana)

Cast:

Janet Montgomery (Made in Jersey, Human Target, The Hills Run Red, Wrong Turn 3, Entourage)...Grace Van Helsing

Chris Egan (Home and Away, Kings )...Dorian Gray

Raza Jaffrey (Spooks, Mistresses, Smash, Eastern Promises, Harry Brown, Sex and the City 2, Infinite Justice)...Harker

Tom Ellis (EastEnders, The Catherine Tate Show, Pulling, Miranda, No Angels, Monday Morning)...Victor Frankenstein

Tracie Thoms (Rent, Cold Case, The Devil Wears Prada, Death Proof, Wonderfalls)...Mina

Emma Booth (Cloudstreet, Underbelly: the Golden Mile, 3 Acts of Murder, Introducing the Dwights)...Madeline Usher

Seth Gabel (Fringe, Dirty Sexy Money, United States of Tara, Nip/Tuck)...Roderick Usher

Melissa George (Golden Globe Nominee, Home and Away, Friends, Alias, In Treatment, Grey's Anatomy, Lie to Me, Dark City, The Limey, Mulholland Drive, The Amityville Horror, Turistas, 30 Days of Night, Trangle, A Lonely Place to Die, The Slap, Hunted)...Fiona Hunter

About: A woman (Janet Montgomery) searches for her brother's killer by delving into a modern world of supernatural and horror, guided by a playboy named Dorian Grey (Chris Egan).

Does it Fit the Network: Yes, it does fit ABC and could easily fit with Once Upon a Time as it's basically a darker version of that show.

Will it Be Good: The show has a pretty good cast even if I'm still concerned by both behind-the-scenes talent and the premise itself.

Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure if this will be able to open as big as Once Upon a Time but it might do well enough to survive for a few seasons. It doesn't help that the two leads aren't going to be selling points.

Name: Influence

Green light to Series

Creator: Kyle Killen (creator of Lone Star and Awake, writer of The Beaver)

Other:

Director: Miguel Sapochnik (director of Repo Men, director for House MD, Fringe, Awake, Falling Skies)

Producers:

Kyle Killen

Cast:

Steve Zahn (Comanche Moon, Treme, Joy Ride, Sahara, A Perfect Getaway, You've Got Mail, Diary of a Wimpy Kid trilogy, Liberty! The American Revolution)...Clark

Christian Slater (The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Legend of Billie Jean, The Name of the Rose, Heathers, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Interview with a Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Broken Arrow, Hard Rain, True Romance, The West Wing, Alias, Breaking In, My Own Worst Enemy, The Forgotten, Ryan's Hope)...Ross

Wynn Everett (The Newsroom, Charlie Wilson's War, The Maiden Heist, The Collective, End of the Spear)...Claire

Megalyn Echikunwoke (CSI: Miami, The 4400, Spyder Games, 24, Like Family, That 70's Show, 90210, House of Lies)...Megan

Cedric Sanders (10,000 Days, The Social Network, American Gangster, The Least Among You, Rocksteady)...Latrell

Gregory Marcel (Infinity Strategists, Austin & Ally, The Cavanaughs, The Good Shephard, Sun Kissed, The Fall, Veronika Decides to Die)...Miles

About: A bipolar genius (Steve Zahn) and a slick ex-con (Christian Slater) solve their clients' problems using the real science of human motivation and manipulation. They're also brothers.

Does it Fit the Network: It could maybe pair with Scandal but I don't really see this fitting anywhere.

Will it Be Good: It's managed to attract a pretty good cast and Kyle Killen is a genius who has created two of the best pilots over the last few seasons.

Will it Be a Hit: Christian Slater might have had a fanbase once but every show he's been in over the last few seasons has been short-lived. Kyle Killen might be a genius but he has yet to give Americans a show they'll actually watch. Overall, Influence will probably be doomed.

Name: Killer Women

Green light to Series

Creator: Hannah Shakespeare (writer for Runaway, Close to Home, The Philanthropist, The Whole Truth, and the Playboy Club, writer of The Raven)

Based on the Argentine series “Mujeres Assesinas”

Other:

Director: Lawrence Trilling (director for Alias, Felicity, Invasion, Monk, Pushing Daisies, Scrubs, Roswell, Parenthood)

Producers:

Hannah Shakespeare

Sofia Vergara (producer of Amas de Casa Desperadas)

Ben Silverman (producer of 30 Days, House of Boateng, Kath & Kim, Ugly Betty, The Tudors, Mob Wives: Sit Down, Massholes, The Office, The Biggest Looser, and K-Town)

Luis Balaguer (producer of Las Chicas de Oro and Viva Hollywood!)

Martin Campbell (producer of Last Resort, Vertical Limit, Scum, and Black Joy)

Cast:

Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice, Dark Blue)...Molly Parker

Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Necessary Roughness)...Dan

Marta Milans (Shame, Valientes, Devoured)...Nessa

Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galatica, Fairly Legal, One Tree Hill, How I Met Your Mother, Revenge)...Billy Parker

Alex Fernandez (Commander in Chief, Without a Trace)...Luis

About: The only woman (Tricia Helfer) in the notoriously male Texas Rangers

Does it Fit the Network: It might in that it's a procedural that is slanted towards the female demographic-the key target audience of ABC.

Will it Be Good: This remains a tough question but I'm still wary to believe in this project because I'm not sure the premise is that relevant in today's law enforcement world.

Will it Be a Hit: An unknown cast and a similar premise to the flopped Prime Suspect doesn't inspire a lot of confidence this will even get a back nine order.

Name: Lucky 7

Green light to Series

Creator: David Zabel (showrunner of ER and Detroit 187) and Jason Richman (writer of Bad Company, Swing Vote, Bangkok Dangerous, and creator of Detroit 187)

Based on the BBC Television Series “The Syndicate” created by: Kay Mellor

Other:

Director: Paul McGuigan (Emmy Nominee, director of The Acid House, Gangster No. 1, The Reckoning, Wicker Park, Lucky Number Slevin, Push, director for Thief, Sherlock, Monroe, Scandal, Smash)

Cast:

Stephen Louis Grush (The Express)...Nicky

Isiah Whitlock Jr. (The Wire, She Hates Me, 25th Hour, Red Hook Summer, Law & Order, Chapelle's Show, Pieces of April, Cedar Rapids)...Bob Harris

Summer Bishil (Towelhead, The Last Airbender, 90210)...Samira

Anastasia Phillips (MVP, Skins, Bomb Girls)...Leanne

Christine Evangelista (The Joneses, Escapee, 666 Park Avenue, The Kill Point)...Mary

Lorraine Bruce (The Syndicate)...Denise

Luis Antonio Ramos (Martin, Early Edition, New York Undercover, In the House, Friends, The Shield, CSI, CSI: Miami, The Huntress, The Ministers)...Antonio Clemente

Matt Long (Jack & Bobby, Ghost Rider, Sydney White, the Deep End, Private Practice)...Matt Korzak

About: Seven employees of a service station who win a lottery jackpot as a group. Each episode follows a different character and apparently each season will follow a different group.

Does it Fit the Network: It doesn't really as I'm not sure where this would go.

Will it Be Good: I'm not sold on the cast of Lucky 7 but the behind-the-scenes talent is strong. This could be a good adaption but it really depends on the execution of the premise.

Will it Be a Hit: Escapism is always a nice sell but the show is going to need to have compelling characters in order for it to work.

Name: Murder in Manhattan

Creator: Maria Maggenti (writer for Without a Trace and wrote The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love, Puccini for Beginners, and Monte Carlo)

Other:

Director: TBA

Producers:

Allan Loeb (producer of New Amsterdam, The Beast)

Jonathan Komack Martin (producer of George Lopez)

Cast:

Bridget Regan (Legend of the Seeker, Beauty and the Beast)...Lex

Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse, The Book of Daniel)...Jack

Brendan Hines (Lie to Me, Scandal)...Bart

Shirley Rumierk (Game Change, Ilegales)...Winsome Bailey

About: A mother (Annie Potts) and daughter (Bridget Regan) team up as amateur sleuths.

Does it Fit the Network: This might just be the procedural hit ABC has been hoping to launch-a dramedy with a strong female center.

Will it Be Good: It has an average cast and it sounds like a fun and harmless procedural to watch when there's nothing else on but it doesn't scream “must-watch” tv.

Will it Be a Hit: This sounds like the kind of fun show that can run for years on broadcast television despite attracting little attention.

Name: Reckless

Creator: Chris Black (writer for Desperate Housewives, Cleopatra 2525, The Huntress, Sliders, Star Trek: Enterprise, Hawaii, and Standoff)

Other:

Director: Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Green Lantern, Edge of Darkness and directed Last Resort pilot)

Producers:

Chris Black

Martin Campbell

Bess Armstrong (On Our Own, Getting Married, High Road to China, Jaws 3-D, The Four Seasons, Lace, Nothing in Common, My So-Called Life)...Catherine Harrison

Stephen Lang (Gods and Generals, Gettysburg, Avatar, Public Enemies, Terra Nova)...Tom

About: A young American's (Patrick Fugit) wife (Eloise Mumford) is taken hostage in an overseas coup and he must join forces with a dangerous mercenary (Naveen Andrews) to get her back.

Does it Fit the Network: It certainly fits the network's trend of genre programming.

Will it Be Good: Martin Campbell is a good sign and the large cast seems to be solid. Reckless might very well be a good show but the premise does raise a red flag with me: it starts with a missing character.

Will it Be a Hit: It sounds like a combo of two short-lived series: Missing and Last Resort. This doesn't strike a lot of confidence.

Name: The Returned

Green light to Series

Creator: Aaron Zelman (Emmy Nominee, writer for Law & Order, Eyes, Criminal Minds, Damages)

Based on the novel “The Returned” by: Jason Mott

Other:

Director: Charles McDougall (Emmy Winner, director for Sex and the City, Big Love, Parks and Recreation, The Office, House of Cards, The Tudors, Big Love, Queer as Folk directed pilots for Desperate Housewives, the Good Wife, The Mindy Project, The Chicago Code, Big Shots)

Landon Gimenez...Jacob Garland

Omar Epps (Major League II, Juice, Higher Learning, Scream 2, The Wood, In Too Deep, Love and Basketball, ER, House)...Martin Bellamy

About: Loved ones return from the dead exactly as they were in life.

Does it Fit the Network: This kind of “event” television was made popular by ABC and it could easily fit into the network.

Will it Be Good: I'm actually pretty excited about this as the premise behind it is strong, the cast is solid, and the behind-the-scenes talent is good.

Will it Be a Hit: This is exactly the kind of show that tends to open big but it'll depend on the characters and plot if it can keep the viewers. On the other hand, genre television is known as a risk for a reason.

Name: SHIELD

Green light to Series

Note: Set in the Marvel universe

Creator: Joss Whedon (creator of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and Dollhouse, co-creator of Angel and Dr, Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, writer of Toy Story and Cabin in the Woods, director/writer of The Avengers and Serenity), Jed Whedon (co-creator of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, writer of Dollhouse, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and Drop Dead Diva), and Maurissa Tanchareon (writer for Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Spartacus: Vengeance)

Iain de Caestecker (Coronation Street, Lip Service, The Fades, Young James Herriot, The Secret of Crickley Hall, 16 Years of Alcohol, The Little Vampire)...Leo Fitz

Ming-Na Wen (Mulan, Kingdom Hearts, ER, As the World Turns, Vanished, The Batman, Stargate Universe, Inconcievable, The Joy Luck Club, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within)...Melinda May

About: The adventures of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (SHIELD).

Does it Fit the Network: I could see this being put on Sunday nights following Once Upon a Time/Revenge. ABC might also use it to break it's Thursday 8PM EST curse.

Will it Be Good: Joss Whedon has a great track record and I doubt Marvel would allow this pilot to be bad. I have a feeling SHIELD will be great.

Will it Be a Hit: If there is such a thing as a sure hit then this must be it. There's no way this will flop but it'll have to be good to keep good ratings.

Name: Untitled David Shore Project

Creator: David Shore (creator of House)

Other:

Director: Thomas Schlamme (director of Pan Am and Parenthood pilots)

Producers:

David Shore

Thomas Schlamme

Cast:

Steven Coogan (Spitting Image, 24 Hour Party People, The Wind in the Wallows, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Tropic Thunder, Hamlet 2, A Cock and Bull Story, The Trip, The Other Guys)...Vincent

John Pankow (Episodes, Mad About You, The Doctors, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd)...Mr. Syd Newman

About: A former cop (Steven Coogan) whose now a cunning low-rent lawyer who uses his street-smarts to work the system for his clients while battling inner-demons and wooing his ex-wife (Carla Gugino).

Does it Fit the Network: Not really. This doesn't really fit in with any ABC show and the network has largely failed with setting up a strong procedural (outside of Castle).

Will it Be Good: This basically sounds like David Shore decided to transport the character of House into the legal realm. It might be good but it now sounds very pedestrian rather than game-changing.

Will it Be a Hit: I have doubts that this show will be able to differentiate itself from hundreds of similar procedural. On the other hand, there's hundreds because they do well. I don't think that this will be a big hit but it might do well enough to hit syndication.

Name: Untitled Once Upon a Time Spin-Off Project

Green light to Series

Note: Ordered as a special presentation

Creator: Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (co-creators of Once Upon a Time and writers for Lost, Felicity, Popular and writers of Tron: Legacy) and Zack Estrin (writer for Prison Break, Point Pleasant, Tru Calling, Miracles, Charmed)

Cast:

Sophie Lowe (The Slap)...Alice

Michael Socha (This is England, Summer, This is England '86, Being Human)...The Knaves of Heart

Peter Gadiot (My Spy Family, Night Wolf, The Forbidden Girl)...Cyrus

Emma Rigby (Hollyoaks, Prisoner's Wives)...Red Queen

About: It follows the journey of Alice (Sophie Lowe) in Wonderland in a post-curse world.

Does it Fit the Network: Yes, of course it does.

Will it Be Good: This is a project that might be good but Once Upon a Time is so uneven that it's difficult to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: This could break-out but I don't see the long-term future for this show considered how Once Upon a Time has really cooled off.

Name: Venice

Creator: Byron Balasco (writer for Huff, Without a Trace, FlashForward, Happy Town, and Detroit 1-8-7)

Other:

Director: McG (director for Charlie's Angels, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Terminator Salvation, director of pilots for Fastlane and Chuck)

Michael Graziadei (Emmy Nominee, The Young and the Restless)...Josh Nonce

Others:

Brooklyn Sudano (My Wife and Kids, Cuts)...Jess

About: Two rival families and the forbidden romance between the two of them (Odette Annable/Luke Bracey) as they struggle for control of Venice, California.

Does it Fit the Network: This is a show I could easily being fit into the ABC schedule and brand.

Will it Be Good: The cast is solid and the premise might not be original but it works for a reason. Venice promises to be a juicy soap and that's all it'll likely be.

Will it Be a Hit: This is a show that the network should be able to easily launch.

About: A self-centered female boss (Sharon Horgan) at a high luxury goods department store finds herself at odds when her own boss' (Alan Thicke) son (David Spade) comes and changes the focus of the company to youth and sex.

Does it Fit the Network: It doesn't really seem to fit anywhere.

Will it Be Good: I don't have a problem with most of the cast but I'm worried that annoying David Spade is in it, especially since he doesn't really strike me as fitting the youth-aspect of the role well. It might be good-it depends if Sharon Horgan can write comedy for Americans and not just the British.

Will it Be a Hit: Sharon Horgan might have a following in the UK but she's practically an unknown in the United States. David Spade and Rob Huebel will help in marketing the show but Bad Management might struggle to launch.

Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords, How to be a Gentleman)...Paul

About: A woman (Kelly Preston) decides to raise her brother's kids (Haley Lu Richardson) after he goes to jail along with her own adopted African American son (Isaac White).

Does it Fit the Network: This “modern family” comedy easily fits in the Wednesday night comedy block.

Will it Be Good: It could be funny as it has a good adult cast and good behind-the-scenes talent. At the very least, it has promise.

Will it Be a Hit: This is the kind of show that could easily survive on the Wednesday night comedy block until it hits syndication.

...Irma

About: Kenny (Jason Jones) and Robin (Andrea Anders) just got divorced but discover that being apart is worse than being married and the two can't help but to stay in each other's life.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a multi-camera comedy project so it could fit with Last Man Standing or Malibu Country.

Will it Be Good: The original series doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, the cast is acceptable, and the behind-the-scenes talent all lead to what seems to be an average comedy.

Will it Be a Hit: It will probably do a little less than Malibu Country but it's possible that the premise might gather some controversy which will temporarily boost it's starting ratings.

about: An auto-biographical and dysfunctional Wonder Years set in the 80s.

Does it Fit the Network: This is a family comedy which could easily fit in the Wednesday comedy block.
Will it Be Good: The cast is actually pretty good (George Segal is a good legend to have) and the premise behind it is strong. I'm not convinced that it's actually good because of the creator but it has promise.
Will it Be a Hit: If this is put in the Wednesday comedy block then I could see this doing pretty well for years.

Wyatt Olef (Suburgatory, Animal Practice)...TBD

Skyler Gisondo (The Bill Engvall Show, Halloween, Air Buddies franchise)...Hunt Bobeck

About: Middle-aged wife and mother (Annie Mumolo) begins to speak up to get the respect she feels she's earned.

Does it Fit the Network: This could pair very well with the Middle or fit anywhere in the Wednesday night comedy block.

Will it Be Good: An industry veteran, a solid cast, and a good premise probably leads to a pretty good comedy pilot.

Will it Be a Hit: It should be able to easily hit syndication assuming it's not terrible.

Adam Campbell (Date Movie, Epic Movie, Harper's Island)…Ron

Blake Lee (Parks and Recreation, The Pig People, Friends with Benefits)...Tom

about: Singles search love over the course of one night at a sexy Manhattan bar.

Does it Fit the Network: This could be paired with Happy Endings which would relegate it to cult status.
Will it Be Good: From the creators of the Hangover comes a cast of largely unknowns. This could be a comedy gem or it could be another Ghosts of Girlfriends Past-it's one to keep an eye out for.
Will it Be a Hit: High-concept comedies are a tough sell and this doesn't have any real big-name actors to sell itself. The “friends” comedies on ABC have all been cult hits that have trouble surviving. I see no reason why Mixology would break the trend.

Name: Pulling
Creator: Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (writers for The Office and wrote Year One)
Based on the British Series Pulling By: Shannon Horgan and Dennis Kelly
Other:
Director: Jason Moore (director of Pitch Perfect, director for Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters)
Producers:

Dennis Kelly (co-creator of Pulling)

Cast:
Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords, Bob's Burgers, 30 Rock, The Daily Show, Gravity Falls)...Louise

June Diane Raphael (NTSF:SD:SUV, Year One, Going the Distance, Animal Practice, New Girl, Players)...Donna

Jenny Slate (Marcell the Shell with Shoes On, Saturday Night Live, Bored to Death)...Karen

Matt Oberg (Onion SportsDome, The Onion News Network, Ugly Americans)...Karl

about: Three single thirty-something year olds (Kristen Schaal/June Diane Raphael/Jenny Slate) who move in together when one breaks off her engagement a day before the wedding.

Does it Fit the Network: It doesn’t fit the Wednesday comedy block but it can pair well with Happy Endings.
Will it Be Good: When the producers decided to replace Mandy Moore with a lesser-known actress, it's a sign that they wanted to make sure the show worked. On the other hand, this does suggest rewrites away from what has made Pulling a classic British hit. Overall...I'm skeptical but willing to give this a shot.
Will it Be a Hit: The network has failed to properly launch a “friends” comedy and I don't think enough Americans know about Pulling to really help break the trend. If the project still had Mandy Moore it would have a chance but without her I doubt Pulling will last long.

Kennedy Waite…Vanessa

Cooper Roth….David Slingbaugh

Lenora Crichlow (Being Human, Sugar Rush)...Gigi Fernandez-Lovette

J.J. Totah (Jessie)...Michael Lovette

about: A strong-willed, divorced, single-mother (Maggie Lawson) who has to move back with her salty, former career-minor-league-baseball-playing widowed father (James Caan) and raise her son (Griffin Gluck) while coaching the son's little league team.

Does it Fit the Network: It's basically a family comedy that will fit in the Wednesday night comedy block.
Will it Be Good: The Cullen Brothers can create a good comedy and the cast of Safe at Home seems to suggest this will be one of them. That it managed to draw Maggie Lawson despite her commitment to Pysch is pretty impressive.
Will it Be a Hit: The Cullen Brothers have yet to have a hit-but it helps that Maggie Lawson and James Caan are in this pilot. If it's on Wednesday night, Safe at Home might very well be their first show to hit syndication.

Name: See You Next Tuesday

Moshe Kasher (Traffic Light, Whitney, Shameless)...Chris

Rose Abdoo (Gilmore Girls, That's So Raven)...Paula

Nat Faxon (Ben and Kate, Orange County, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Bad Teacher, Beerfest)...Alan (Recurring Role)

About: A hapless single father (Rob Corddy) with a highly precocious nine-year old son (Mason Cook) who quits his job and accidentally joins the Secret Service.

Does it Fit the Network: It might fit in the Wednesday Comedy Block due to the family part of the show.

Will it Be Good: I'm not sure-Rob Corddy doesn't strike me as the actor you would cast as Tim Elliot and it seems like the network needed to many changes for American audiences that it might lose what made the British comedy work so well. I might be wrong but I'm sadly doubtful this will be good...sad since I've been rooting for this one.

Will it Be a Hit: The original does well on Hulu but will that translate to broadcast television success? That's not so easy...but maybe it will be paired with the Neighbors.

Kevin Bishop (The Kevin Bishop Show, Mupper Treasure Island)...Richard

about: The quest of friends to have super fun every Friday night.

Does it Fit the Network: It would pair well with Happy Endings and Apartment 23.
Will it Be Good: This is the second time the pilot has been made and now it's for a different network and a different format. It might work as the cast is pretty good and I'm slowly becoming a fan of Rebel Wilson...so we'll see.
Will it Be a Hit: Apartment 23 is out, Happy Endings looks like it might move to USA....Super Fun Night might be funny but it might not find an audience on this network.

about: A reformed party girl (Malin Akerman) who falls in love with a man (Bradley Whitford) who has three manipulative kids (Ryan Lee/Gianna LePera/Albert Tsai) and two judgmental ex-wives (Marcia Gay Harden/Michaela Watkins).

Does it Fit the Network: It's a family comedy that can fit the Wednesday comedy block.
Will it Be Good: The cast is pretty good (Bradley Whitford! Malin Ackerman! Marcia Gay Harden!) so I'm hopeful-the behind-the-scenes talent could use more experience but there's a chance something is here.
Will it Be a Hit: It can definably do well on Wednesday night.

Name: Untitled John Leguizamo Project

Troy Garity (Golden Globe Nominee, Soldier's Girl, Barbershop films, Steal This Movie, Sunshine, Lake City)...Crash

Elizabeth Pena (I Married Dora, Shannon's Deal)...Olga

Ariela Barer (Stellina Blue, New Girl)...TBA

About: Comedy based on Leguizamo's professional, personal, and family life.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a multi-camera comedy with a big star so I'm guessing this goes with Malibu Country and/or Last Man Standing.

Will it Be Good: The cast and behind-the-scenes talent imply that might happen so I'm cautiously hopeful.

Will it Be a Hit: John Leguizamo will probably be enough to attract eyeballs-but can he keep them there?

Esai Morales (La Bamba, American Family, Resurrection Blvd., NYPD Blue, Caprica, Magic City)...Rafael “Raffa” Cortez

Brit Morgan (The Middleman, True Blood)...Rose

about: A female lawyer (Mandy Moore) and male ex-con (Ben McKenzie) who join forces as victim advocates, going to the edge of the law to fight for the underdog.

Does it Fit the Network: CBS is the home of procedural like this but it's hard trouble successfully launching a legal hit. The Good Wife might bring awards to the network but it's always on the bubble of cancellation.
Will it Be Good: The cast is pretty good (CCH Pounder and Mandy Moore inspire confidence) and Bruno Heller is a pretty good writer. The Advocates should be a solid show.
Will it Be a Hit: This might finally be the legal hit that CBS is looking for and Mandy Moore will really help launch it.

Name: The Anatomy of Violence
Creator: Howard Gordon (Emmy winner, co-creator of Strange World, The Inside, and Homeland and showrunner of 24 and Awake) & Alex Gansa (Emmy winner, co-creator of Homeland)
Based on the Novel “The Biological Roots of Crime” by: Adrian Raine

David Harewood (The Man Inside, Agony Again, Always and Everyone, The Vice, Babyfather, The Palace, The Last Enemy, Robin Hood, Homeland)...Alejo

about: A female FBI agent (Amber Tamblyn) who starts working with a mysterious psychiatrist (Skeet Ulrich) that she shares a past connection with.

Does it Fit the Network: There's a cop so yes this fits the CBS brand completely. The question is if whether this psychiatrist connection is strong enough to help separate it from the pack.
Will it Be Good: The behind-the-scenes talent is really strong and I like the cast members but I'm not completely convinced yet-it'll depend on the chemistry between Skeet Ulrich and Amber Tamblyn.
Will it Be a Hit: I'm concerned with how CBS plans to successfully market the premise but the chemistry between the characters will be crucial for this project.

Name: Backstrom
Note: Originally developed for FOX last season. Stephan Gaghan was the original creator of the show but he's been dropped in favor of Hart Hanson.

Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show, Heroes, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Kaboom, The Secret Circle)...Valentine (Recurring)

Camryn Manheim (Emmy Winner, Golden Globe Winner, The Practice, Ghost Whisperer, Elvis, Harry's Law)...Anna Holt (Recurring)

about: An overweight, offensive detective (Rain Wilson) as he tries and fails at changing his self-destructive behavior.

Does it Fit the Network: It sounds just like so many cop shows out there-and those are the CBS speciality.
Will it Be Good: There is no reason to suggest this will be a bad show. Hart Hanson is a veteran at procedurals, the author will ensure some quality control, and the cast is pretty good-I actually think Rainn Wilson was an excellent choice for Backstrom. I haven't read the books but I think fans will be happy.
Will it Be a Hit: It's going to need to find a way to stand out and the source material might be popular in Scandinavia but not in America. Rainn Wilson really isn't a big name-draw so the marketing is going have to try hard to ensure this show sells.

Name: Beverly Hills Cop

Eddie Murphy (Golden Globe winner, Saturday Night Live, 48 Hrs, Beverly Hills Cop film series, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor film series, Dreamgirls, The PJs, Shrek film series, Mulan, Coming to America, Vampire in Brooklyn, Bowfinger, Norbit)...Axel Foley [Recurring Role]

about: The son of Alex Foley (Brandon T. Jackson) fights crime in Beverly Hills while trying to escape the shadow of his father (Eddie Murphy).

Does it Fit the Network: A cop show? It definably belongs on CBS.
Will it Be Good: I'm leaning towards yes The cast is pretty much phenomenal and Shawn Ryan is one of the most talented people currently in television but Eddie Murphy has had some trouble with quality in the recent past.
Will it Be a Hit: This is going to open big. Eddie Murphy might no longer be big but his name still has some value and the Beverly Hills Cop franchise will attract a lot of viewers.

about: A family caught in the middle of a grand political conspiracy that will change their lives forever.

Does it Fit the Network: Not really. CBS is great at launching procedurals but it really struggles with serialized dramas. The last major program like this that the network tried was canceled...twice.
Will it Be Good: Jerry Bruckheimer productions tend to at least be solid and it has a strong cast in the center. Hostages has potential.
Will it Be a Hit: Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott will help ensure that Jerry Bruckheimer gets another hit on his hands.

John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise, The Others, The Nine, Prison Break, 24)...Dr. William Crispin

About: An agent (Josh Holloway) of the US Cyber Command who just happens to have a microchip installed that allows him to access the electromagnetic spectrum to get information. So basically “Chuck”.

Does it Fit the Network: I'm guessing CBS is hoping that this will pair well with Person of Interest.

Will it Be Good: The cast is pretty strong and the premise is very good-it might be similar to Chuck but I could see Intelligence working well.

Will it Be a Hit: The premise is similar to two cult hits (Chuck, Jake 2.0) which leads me to believe that while Intelligence might make it to syndication, it'll be on the bubble for most of it's run.

Hope Davis (Golden Globe Nominee, Emmy Nominee, About Schmidt, Arlington Road, Flatliners, Mumford, American Splendor, The Lodger, Next Stop Wonderland, Deadline, In Treatment, The Special Relationship)...Packy

About: A former priest (Charlie Cox) becomes a lawyer to prevent his political sister (Hope Davis) from getting assassinated.

Does it Fit the Network: The lawyer procedural aspect fits but the convoluted reason for it...not really.

Will it Be Good: It's not often a new writer is able to sell a series to a network so there's something here. It's attracted a pretty good cast. Assuming the premise isn't too complicated, the Ordained might be a good drama pilot.

Will it Be a Hit: The premise is going to make it difficult to market but it has some strong star power to attract viewers. This might be the event television the Tiffany network has been looking for all this time.

Name: Reckless

Green light to Series

Creator: Dana Stevens (writer of Blink, For the Love of the Game, and City of Angels and creator of What About Brian?)

Other:

Gregory Harrison (North Shore, Trapper John, M.D., Logan's Run, Centennial, Family Man, Safe Harbor, For Ladies Only, Fresno, Falcon Crest, It's My Party, Au Pair, Follies, Body of Proof)...Dec

Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, Ugly Betty, Let the Games Begin, Magic Mike)...Preston

About: Two opposing lawyers (Cam Gigandet/Anna Wood) must try their best to hide their unresolved sexual tension while clashing over a police sex scandal.

Does it Fit the Network: The network is always seeking a legal drama but...this feels more like an ABC show with it's twist.

Will it Be Good: A serialized legal drama that has a promising premise but it depends on a lot of things. The cast is decent and the behind-the-scenes talent is nothing to write home about but it really all depends on the sexual chemistry between Cam Gigandet and Anna Wood.

Will it Be a Hit: The chemistry will have to be there but can CBS sell this to it's audience? That's a good question.

Name: Second Sight

Creator: Michael Cuesta (writer of L.I.E. and Roadie) and Gerald Cuesta (writer of L.I.E. and Roadie)

Jill Scott (Hounddog, Why Did I get Married?, The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency)...Serafine Callier

About: A homicide detective (Jason Lee) whose slowly losing his sight but he decides to use his affliction into an advantage by using his heightened senses, intuition into solving crimes. Also, he hallucinates.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a cop show so it technically fits but it might be too high concept to properly fit the broad appeal the network likes to go for.

Will it Be Good: Second Sight has a lot going for it: based on an acclaimed drama, a solid and unigue premise, and great behind-the-scenes talent as Michael Cuesta has a good reputation. The cast is the only part I'm concerned about.

Will it Be a Hit: Second Sight might be a cop drama but it's very risky...and the Tiffany network tends to be risk-adverse. If it does get picked up, I wouldn't be surprised if we get another Golden Boy.

Name: The Surgeon General

Creator: Samuel Baum (creator of Lie to Me, co-creator of The Evidence)

Other:

Director: Rod Lurie (director of Deterrence, The Contender, The Last Castle, Resurrecting the Champ, Nothing but the Truth, Straw Dogs, director for Line of Fire, Commander in Chief, and Hell on Wheels)

Mike Colter (Million Dollar Baby, Ringer, The Good Wife, The Following, Zero Dark Thirty)...Dr. McCallan

Christopher Thornton (Rules of Engagement, Sympathy for the Delicious, Pretty Persuasion)...Aleksy Myaskobsky

Anna Deavere Smith (The West Wing, Nurse Jackie, The Practice, All My Children, The American President, Rachel Getting Married)...Vice President (Recurring)

Paul McCrane (Emmy Winner, Fame, RoboCop, ER, Harry's Law, From the Earth to the Moon, 24)...President's Chief of Staff (Recurring)

Miguel Sandoval (Clear and Present Danger, Get Shorty, Up Close & Personal, Blow, Death and the Compass, Three Buisinessmen, The Court, Medium)...Sen. Nortega (Recurring)

About: The most powerful doctor (Jason Isaacs) in the nation must deal with politics and business in order to protect the health of every person in the United States. Clearly a low-pressure job.

Does it Fit the Network: The network doesn't really have any medical dramas on the air but these kind of shows could fit on the network...but this show seems a bit too grand in order to really fit.

Will it Be Good: A good cast, behind-the-scenes talent, and an original promise do have me excited but only if this show is willing to actually be bold enough to make political stands.

Will it Be a Hit: It's a risk because of the political nature and the surgeon general isn't really the sexiest post in politics but I could see this doing as well as the Good Wife. So...on the bubble for it's entire run.

Name: Untitled NCIS: Los Angeles Spin-Off Project
Creator: Shane Brennan (creator of NCIS: Los Angeles)
Other:
Director: Tony Wharmby (director for JAG, NCIS, The OC, Bones, Providence, Coronation Street, The X-files, Gossip Girl, Supernatural)

Edwin Hodge (Boston Public, Jack & Bobby, Invasion, Mental, Cougar Town, Red Dawn)...Kai Ashe

Miguel Ferrer (RoboCop, Twin Peaks, Crossing Jordan, Mulan, NCIS)...Owen Granger

Scott Grimes (ER, Party of Five, Band of Brothers, American Dad!, Critters films)...Dave

Gillian Alexy (McLeod's Daughters, Damages)...Claire

Kim Raver (Third Watch, 24, Lipstick Jungle, Grey's Anatomy, Revolution)...Paris

Kenneth Mitchell (Jericho)...Danny (Recurring)

about: A small mobile team of agents that crisscross the country solving crimes.

Does it Fit the Network: Not only does it fit the network but it's a spin-off of a largely successful franchise.
Will it Be Good: The pilot was okay and promised a show I could see myself watching when I'm in a hotel room and have nothing else to watch.
Will it Be a Hit: NCIS: LA is a big hit so there's no reason to think this spin-off won't do well.

Kristin Davis (Emmy Nominee, Melrose Place, Sex and the City, Deck the Halls)...Ginny

Caitlin Kimball (DisEnchanted)...Kim(Recurring)

Katie Walder (Gilmore Girls)...Brie (Recurring)

About: A foul-mouthed, gold-digging junior high school teacher (Ari Graynor).

Does it Fit the Network: A single-camera on CBS doesn't really fit with the rest of the CBS comedies and even if it wasn't, I don't really see it belonging on the Monday or Thursday night comedy blocks.

Will it Be Good: Probably not but Winston might be able to make the premise work.

Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure the people who made the Bad Teacher movie a hit necessarily want a television adaption.

Name: The Crazy Ones

Green light to Series

Creator: David E. Kelley (creator of Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Boston Public, Harry's Law, and Monday Mornings and co-creator of Doogie Howser, M.D. and The Wedding Bells)

Amanda Setton (Gossip Girl, One Life to Live, The Mindy Project)...Lauren Slotsky

Hamish Linklater (The New Adventures of Old Christine, American Dreams, Gideon's Crossing)...Andrew Kennedy

About: A father (Robin Williams) works alongside his daughter in the advertising world.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a single-camera so it has THAT going against it but Robin Williams might just be the actor to help CBS successfully launch one.

Will it Be Good: Kelley can be a good creator and it has a great director-plus Robin Williams would ensure the project is at least decent. There's a pretty good chance this might be a funny show.

Will it Be a Hit: Robin Williams returns to television? It will get a lot of interested eyeballs when it debuts.

Name: Ex Men

Jerry O'Conell (Sliders, My Secret Identity, Stand By Me, Scream 2, Kangaroo Jack, Crossing Jordan, The Defenders, Piranha 3D, Mockingbird Lane, Do Not Disturb, Carpoolers)...Stuart Stegeman

about: A newly single guy (Christopher Nicholas Smith) who is taken under the wing of more experienced guys (Kal Penn/Tony Shalhoub/Jerry O'Connell).

Does it Fit the Network: This could easily follow The Big Bang Theory or fit in Monday nights except it's single-camera comedy-and this network doesn't really do those.
Will it Be Good: It has attracted some pretty good actors to the project and it comes from an Emmy nominee so there's a good shot it's good.
Will it Be a Hit: This is CBS. The question isn't whether it'll be a hit but whether it'll be a big-enough hit.

Name: Friends with Better Lives

Green light to Series

Kevin Connolly (Golden Globe Nominee, Entourage, Unhappily Ever After)...Bobby Lugz

Majandra Delfino (Roswell, State of Georgia)...Andi Lugz

Zoe Lister-Jones (Whitney, Delocated)...Kate

about: A group of 30-something friends who each think the others have it better.

Does it Fit the Network: This show could be put between 2 Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother.
Will it Be Good: I’d have to see the cast before I can have a proper opinion on this one.
Will it Be a Hit: It might be but the concept is a bit hard to describe in marketing.

Name: Jacked Up

Creator: Greg Malins (writer for Dream On, The Wonder Years, Daddy Dearest, Double Rush, Friends, Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother, Better with You, 2 Broke Girls and creator of Come to Papa)

About: A popular and recently retired baseball player (Patrick Warburton) finds out adjusting to retirement isn't going to be as easy as he thought.

Does it Fit the Network: This could easily fit in the Monday night comedy block and Patrick Warburton is basically already a CBS sit-com star.

Will it Be Good: A bit too early to tell but it does have an experienced writer working for it.

Will it Be a Hit: Patrick Warburton may be a sit-com star but Rules of Engagement tends to always be on the bubble. It's had it's use as a utility player and I wouldn't be surprised if Jacked Up took that role.

Name: The McCarthys

Creator: Brian Gallivan (writer for Are You There, Chelsea? and Happy Endings)

Other:

Jessica Caffin (Zoey 101)...Jackie

Jimmy Dunn (Stuck on You)...Sean

About: A gay son (Jake Lacy) who wants to spend less time with his Irish-Catholic, sports-crazed Boston family.

Does it Fit the Network: A family comedy hasn't really belonged on CBS for a while now. Single-camera comedies haven't established a footing in the network either.

Will it Be Good: It might be-it's a little too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: Too early to tell.

Name: Mom

Creator: Chuck Lorre (creator of Grace Under Fire and Cybill, co-creator of Dharma & Greg Two and a Half Men, and the Big Bang Theory and producer of Mike & Molly and Roseanne), Eddie Gorodetsky (Emmy Winner, writer for Two and a Half Men, Dharma & Greg, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Mike & Molly), Gemma Baker (writer for Two and a Half Men)

French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun, Stargate, Leaving Las Vegas, The Poison Tasters, Glory Daze, McHale's Navy, Love Stinks, Clockstoppers, Wedding Daze)...Chef Rudy

about: A newly sober mom (Anna Faris) who tries to pull her life together in the wine country.

Does it Fit the Network: Chuck Lorre has created a comedy empire on CBS. There's no doubt this show fits. Allison Janney and Anna Faris being the female leads make this pilot a frontrunner to be picked up.
Will it Be Good: Chuck Lorre might be prolific but not all of his work is good (or even funny). It's a toss-up of whether this is actually good or whether it's just a whole bunch of alcohol jokes. The two female leads of the show lend a lot of credibility to the project.
Will it Be a Hit: Chuck Lorre hasn't had a flop in a really, really long time. It's doubtful this would break his streak.

Name: Mother's Day

Debra Messing (producer of The Starter Wife)

Cast:

Paul Adelstein (Prison Break, Private Practice, Cupid, Hack)...Bryan

Michael Nathanson (Time Freak, Young Adult, Daymaker, Side Effects)...Ted

Maggie Elizabeth Jones (We Bought a Zoo, Ben and Kate)...Jojo

About: Ella (Debra Messing) is a 40-year-old mother who lies constantly to navigate her life.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a single-camera comedy and it might be too much of a family comedy to really fit with CBS.

Will it Be Good: The trailer for the original was good enough to show promise but I'm wondering if the translation will truly be able to work.

Will it Be a Hit: Too early to tell.

Name: Super Clyde

Creator: Greg Garcia (creator of Yes, Dear, My Name is Earl, Raising Hope)

Justine Lupe (Harry's Law)...Faith

Laura Catalina Ortiz (The Hills Have Eyes, Horton Hears a Who!, Norbit, Holliston)...Jolene

About: A meek, unassuming fast food employee (Rupert Grint) who decides he'll just become a super hero.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a single-camera project so not really-and even if it wasn't, with what comedy could it possibly be paired with?

Will it Be Good: Greg Garcia is pretty good at creating funny comedies so probably.

Will it Be a Hit: The premise might sound awesome to the people who attend comic-con but it's doubtful it'll be anything beyond a cult hit. Rupert Grint as the lead actor will at least allow it to start with a strong premiere but the actual premise and nature of the show will still doom it to cult status.

Barnum, Inherit the Wind, We Were the Mulvaneys, The Descendants, The Agency, Stargate SG-1, My Name is Earl, Desperate Housewives, The Closer, Brothers & Sisters, Franklin & Bash, White Collar, Max Payne, The Fabulous Baker Boys)...Tom

About: A recently divorced man (Will Arnett) whose life is turned upside down when his parents (Margo Martindale/Michael Rappaport) move in with him.

Does it Fit the Network: It certainly could fit in the Monday night comedy block or after the Big Bang Theory.

Will it Be Good: Greg Garcia is pretty good at creating funny comedies so probably.

Will it Be a Hit: This multi-camera comedy does seem to have broad appeal.

Name: Untitled Jim Gaffigan Project

Mira Sorvino (Oscar Winner, Mighty Aphrodite )...Jeannie

Christian Barillas (Passions, Without a Trace, Bunheads, Seven Psychopaths)...Arlen

Tongayi Chirisa (Studio 263, Crusoe)...Father Nicholas Ngunhumbane

about: A husband and father (Jim Gaffigan) of five who lives with his family in a two-bedroom New York apartment. Allegedly based of Jim Gaffigan's real-life.

Does it Fit the Network: Family comedies currently belong to ABC and it's a single-camera comedy which means it doesn't fit with CBS.
Will it Be Good: I actually think Jim Gaffigan can be funny so this might very well turn out to be good-assuming that he's able to have a lot of control over his show.
Will it Be a Hit: It's hard to tell but it doesn't really fit into the schedule anywhere. This could be successful but it'll have a tough road.

About: A widowed father who jumps back into the dating pool while raising his 12-year-old son.

Does it Fit the Network: It might actually be able to fit with Two and a Half Men.

Will it Be Good: Too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: Too early to tell.

About: The dark story of a family whose patriarch (John Benjamin Hickey) gets into a coma.

Does it Fit the Network: Sort-off? There is a teenage girl so I guess it's technically a dream drama but the fantasy aspects of it don't really qualify it as science fiction.

Will it Be Good: A bit early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: This seems like a tough sell.

About: The lives and loves of the young people at the Norfolk Naval Station.

Does it Fit the Network: Sounds like a normal CW show to me.

Will it Be Good: A bit early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: Young adult drama has been suffering on the CW for a bit now but this might be the program to break them out of the funk. Or not.

About: A spaceship community sends 100 juvenile delinquents to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing Earth 97 years after a nuclear war.

Danielle Campbell (Starstruck, Prom)...Davina

Leah Pipes (Life is Wild, Sorority Row)...Camille

About: Klaus (Joseph Morgan) returns to New Orleans and is reunited with his diabolical former protege Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

Does it Fit the Network: A spin-off to their highest-rated show definably fits the network.

Will it Be Good: Kevin Williamson's involvement is unclear at this point which casts SOME doubt and the Vampire Diaries has had some problems this season...but it's still a great show and it's picked a decent character for the spin-off. There's hope-and Elijah's presence increases it.

Will it Be a Hit: Spin-offs can be hits but they can also flop and die-it depends on how distinct but also how it manages to capture the qualities that make the original great.

About: It follows the desegregation of a school district when a normal high school starts to integrate humanoid aliens.

Does it Fit the Network: A high school drama with aliens? It's like CW gold!

Will it Be Good: It might be, a bit early to tell.

About: A teenage Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane).

Does it Fit the Network: If there's any network that fits with a drama like “The Tudors” or “The Borgias” it's the CW.

Will it Be Good: A bit too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: A bit too early to tell.

About: Three hundred years in the future, a woman is chosen by a lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads.

Does it Fit the Network: This could easily fit in with any CW show (outside of Hart of Dixie)

Will it Be Good: The network seems happy with the new treatment-but it's a bit early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: The Hunger Games phenomenon is still alive but is the CW too late to jump on the bandwagon? That's a good question.

About: A group of people who have developed special powers work together to defeat the forces of evil.

Does it Fit the Network: Genre fiction is currently in for the network so it does.

Will it Be Good: It has a lot of potential as the behind-the-scenes talent is pretty top-notch.

Will it Be a Hit: It depends completely on SHIELD. If that's a huge success, Tomorrow People might be helped or hurt.

About: A family who serve as assassins for the federal government.

Will it Be a Hit: It has potential for starting out big.

About: A love story in a world where all teenagers are required to be cured from it.

Does it Fit the Network: While FOX is no stranger to genre fare, this seems like a project that would belong better on ABC or the CW. Despite this, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets paired with Glee.

Will it Be Good: I don't know about you but Emma Roberts boarding this pilot really increases my expectations from this project. Roberts isn't always a good indicator of quality but her presence does show something is here.

Will it Be a Hit: The book's in-built fanbase might not be big enough to launch this series but adding Emma Roberts makes this risky choice a bit less risky.

Cliff Curtis (Whale Rider, Jubilee, Blow, Trauma, Body of Proof, Missing)...Javier Acosta

About: A gang member (Ramon Rodriquez) infiltrates the police only to find himself with conflicting loyalties.

Does it Fit the Network: It fits the FOX idea of bold programming.

Will it Be Good: Too soon to tell but FOX likes it.

Will it Be a Hit: It doesn't really spell like something that would appeal to a mainstream audience.

Name: The List

Creator: Paul Zbyszewksi (creator of Day Break and writer of After the Sunset)

Jessica Szohr (CSI: Miami, What About Brian, Gossip Girl, Piranha 3D, I Don't Know How She Does It)...Natalie Voss

About: Deputy US Marshal (Michael Peña) must find the person who stole the list of everyone in the Federal Witness Protection Program.

Does it Fit the Network: This could easily fit with the “The Following” and it's close enough to “Bones” to also be paired with it.

Will it Be Good: There's always that possibility but I'm doubtful at the moment.

Will it Be a Hit: If FOX can market this right (which they probably can) then this unigue procedural twist might enough to become a hit.

Name: Rake

Green-lit to Series

Creator: Peter Duncan (co-creator of Rake)

Based on the Australian television series “Rake” created by: Peter Duncan, Richard Roxburgh, and Charles Waterstreet

John Ortiz (Lush Life, Clubhouse, Luck, Silver Linings Playbook, Jack Goes Boating)...Ben

David Harbour (Quantum of Solace, End of Watch, The Green Hornet, War of the Worlds)...David Potter

Tara Summers (Boston Legal, Ringer)...Leanne Zander

About: A brilliant, iconoclastic and self-destructive lawyer (Greg Kinnear) who takes on lost causes without realizing he's the biggest lost cause of them all.

Does it Fit the Network: It does. FOX is the network that had House-a similar premise just with a doctor instead of a lawyer.

Will it Be Good: The original Australian series has gotten a good reception and it's comforting to see one of the original creators writing the pilot. Peter Tolan's prime success comes from a show with a similar premise, just with a firefighter. Greg Kinnear as a lead is also pretty significant: there's a lot going in favor of this pilot.

Will it Be a Hit: The question is if this project will be able to differentiate itself from all the other charmingly self-destructive characters currently leading their own procedurals. If it can do so, Rake might very well have a chance.

Orlando Jones (MADtv, 7 Up spokesman, How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life))...Lt. Frank Williams

Katia Winter (Arena, Unmade Beds, Everywhere and Nowhere, Dexter)...Katrina

John Cho (Harold & Kumar films, American Pie films, Better Luck Tomorrow, Yellow, Star Trek, Flashforward, Off Centre, Go On)...Andy Dunn (Guest Star)

About: Ichabod Crane partners up with the sheriff of Sleepy Hollow (Nicole Behari) to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged between a battle of good and evil.

Does it Fit the Network: It can fit with the network but once again this feels like a project for the CW or ABC.

Will it Be Good: Orci and Kurtzman are very talented writers but I'll have to see the cast before I know for sure.

Will it Be a Hit: It does have a built-in brand name but are people really interesting in a Sleepy Hollow television show?

Name: Untitled J.H. Wyman Project

Green-lit to Series

Creator: J.H. Wyman (creator of Keen Eddie, showrunner of Fringe)

Other:

Michael Irby (The Unit, Law & Order, Line of Fire)...Richard Paul

Mackenzie Crook (The Office, Pirates of the Carribean films)...Rudy Lom

Mekia Cox (90210, This Is It, Undercovers)...TBA (Recurring)

About: Set in the near future, all LAPD officers have been partnered with androids. The main pairing is human John (Karl Urban) and his android partner Dorian (Michael Ealy).

Does it Fit the Network: It certainly fits the FOX pattern of having at least one genre show per season.

Will it Be Good: It's a bit early to tell. Abrams is behind some great television shows but he's not a guarantee of quality. It is a bit promising that Wyman is the creator.

Will it Be a Hit: Genre fiction usually only gets a cult audience and there's no reason this show won't be any different.

Alano Miller (Royal Pains, How to Make it In America, Damages)...Joaquin

Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump, Boomtown, 24, Justified)...Donald Bowman

About: A navy aircraft carrier and the people on it.

Does it Fit the Network: First-what's up with the navy getting a lot of attention from tv now? Second-it might be able to fit the FOX brand.

Will it Be Good: Too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: Too early to tell.

Tonita Castro (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Funny People, Something New, Bad Ass, Go On, Little Britain, Kroll Show)...Edna

Vanessa Lachey (Entertainment Tonight, Wipeout, Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding)...Camilla

about: Two successful men (Tommy Dewey/Seth Green) in their thirties have their lives turned upside down when their dads (Martin Mull/Peter Riegert) move in with them. Hilarity ensues.

Does it Fit the Network: I’m not sure if this really belongs with any show FOX currently has on the air. On the other hand, Seth Macfarlene has an animation empire on FOX and it would make sense he would try to expand into the live-action comedy.
Will it Be Good: The Good: FOX Brass loved the pilot script so much they ordered it straight to series. The Bad: Seth Macfarlane can be funny but he has very little restraint (not just in offensive jokes but in using them too much) and can be hit-or-miss a lot of times. Proof: The recent Family Guy seasons The Ugly: It might be funny in paper but it might suck in execution. Proof: The Winner
Will it Be a Hit: Seth Macfarlene might have a good record of launching animated hits…but Ted’s success aside, his last attempt at launching a live-action show was the Winner-a show justifiably canceled after three episodes.

about: New lovers (Jason Ritter/Alexis Bledel) who try to maintain their relationship amongst their polarizing families lives.

Does it Fit the Network: It sort-of can fit in between Raising Hope and New Girl. Actually, it could serve as a pretty good bridge between the two.
Will it Be Good: It’s hopeful that the creators of the original show are involved but it’s a bit early to tell.
Will it Be a Hit: Probably average for FOX live-action comedies.

about: A strange family who hate normal in a Midwestern town where everyone knows each other and politeness rules. I imagine the town also defines normal.

Does it Fit the Network:This fits in with Raising Hope only.

Will it Be a Hit: It’ll do the same as Raising Hope or worse.

about: A coming-of-age story set before Google.

Does it Fit the Network: It could fit with Raising Hope.
Will it Be Good: Halpern's first sit-com based on one of his books was outright terrible but maybe Lawrence can guide this project to be good.
Will it Be a Hit: New Girl is the closest FOX has to having a comedy hit and it isn't doing that well. I Suck at Girls is going to have an uphill battle especially since the other “family” comedies the network has aren't fairing well.

about: Jackie's (Erin Richards) marriage to WME talent agent Brad (Chris Klein).

Does it Fit the Network: Not really. I'm not sure where FOX plans to put this as it doesn't seem to fit with any show.
Will it Be Good: It's not really clear. It has a veteran writer but this is the first time she's created her own project. It really depends on the jokes and the chemistry between Klein and Richards.
Will it Be a Hit: Not to be a pessimist, but this doesn't really scream like it's going to be a hit show.

about: Assistants (Joe Egender/Melissa Tang/Brittany Snow) to overbearing bosses (Catherine O'Hara/Stephen Root) come together as a family to cope.

Does it Fit the Network: I guess it could fit with New Girl and the Mindy Project.
Will it Be Good: It might change as it gets casted, but I’m doubtful due to the creative team behind it.
Will it Be a Hit: It’ll probably do as well as Mindy Project or New Girl.

about: A diverse group of cops at the edge of New York City.

Does it Fit the Network: Not at all. This barely fits with the Mindy Project as workplace comedy isn't really a FOX thing.
Will it Be Good: It has a solid team behind it but it's a bit early to tell.
Will it Be a Hit: On FOX? Currently doubtful.

about: Army doctors working the night shift at a San Antonio hospital

Does it Fit the Network: This is the network that had ER and it shouldn't come as a surprise that they hope to find a replacement for it. This will probably be paired with Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Fire (if that's renewed).
Will it Be Good: A bit tough to tell. The writing team behind it can be quite inconsistent and the cast is just good enough to give me hope.
Will it Be a Hit: It's really tough to tell at the moment but it would probably do as well as Mercy and Trauma did.

Kyle MacLachlan (Golden Globe Winner, Emmy Nominee, Blue Velvet, Showgirls, Dune, The Doors, Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City, Twin Peaks, Portlandia, Made in Jersey)...Skouras

Arian Moayed (The Following)...Corey

about: A man (Jake McLaughlin) is sprung from prison so that he can protect a girl (Johnny Sequoyah )who is going to develop great powers.

Does it Fit the Network: This is a network that is constantly trying genre fiction and this could easily be paired with Revolution.
Will it Be Good: At the moment, I have every faith that Cuaron (with Friedman) will be able to craft a great pilot and subsequent series.
Will it Be a Hit: That is a completely different matter. Genre fiction like this tends to succeed more as a cult hit than a mainstream one. There's a chance this will only last one season or barely make it to syndication but I doubt this will be a mainstream hit.

Diego Klattenhoff (Homeland, Whistler, Men in Trees, At the Hotel, Mercy)...Donald Ressler

Harry Lennix (The Five Heartbeats, Dollhouse, ER, Keep the Faith, Baby, Ray, Commander in Cheif)...Harold Cooper

Ilfenesh Hadera...Jennifer Palmer

about: The most-wanted criminal (James Spader) turns himself in and offers to turn everyone he’s worked with in but only if he works with an FBI agent (Megan Boone) who seemingly shares no connection with him.

Does it Fit the Network: This could fit in with Law & Order and the network loves to keep trying to launch a procedural.
Will it Be Good: At this moment, it’s doubtful. The premise itself stands out a bit but it really isn’t original as criminals helping catch criminals is a sub-genre of it’s own.
Will it Be a Hit: There’s always a chance it will be a hit but I could see this being an average and solid performer.

Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do!, Southland, Cashmere Mafia, Saved, Because I Said So, ER, An American Werewolf in Paris, Dead Man on Campus, Grace Under Fire)...Christopher Benson

Tzi Ma (The Quiet American, The Ladykillers, The Sensei, Red Doors, Catfish in Black Bean Sauce, Baby, Rush Hour films, 24)...Charles Hwang

about: An orphaned young girl (Skyler Samuels) who is caught in the epic struggle between two warring families of mercenaries and killers. The young girl is mentored by a mysterious Chinese man (Tzi Ma) so she can fight her mother in mortal combat in order to live in peace.

Does it Fit the Network: There is currently no television series on any network that's being done in the vein of “Kill Bill”. This is to state that this project doesn't belong on any of the networks-and it might struggle to even fit in cable.
Will it Be Good: There's a veteran television writer and the director can create good movies-but this is a high-concept and ambitious drama that might backfire on them.
Will it Be a Hit: Believe it or not, this screams cult hit-whether that's big enough to reach syndication numbers or not is a different question.

Angela Sarafyan (The Good Guys, In Plain Sight)...Cucumber

Terry Kinney (Oz, thirtysomething, Canterbury's Law, The Unusuals, The Mentalist, Being Human, NYC 22, Malibu Stacy)...Olad Renner

about: A House-like divorce attorney (John Stamos) with a unique view on relationships.

Does it Fit the Network: It can fit within NBC albeit as this kind of “unique” character that has been done a hundred times before can be fit anywhere.
Will it Be Good: It could possibly be good but at the moment I wouldn't hold my breath.
Will it Be a Hit: If it can find a way to make Victor actually stand out with the hundreds of House clones out there, then sure.

Kenneth Choi (Captain America: The First Avenger, Sons of Anarchy)...Captain Ed Rollins

About: A San Francisco detective bound to a wheelchair (Blair Underwood) who must find new ways to solve crimes.

Does it Fit the Network: The original show was on NBC but that was a different network-it might be able to fit.

Will it Be Good: Too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: Nostalgia can be a powerful force but the question is if Ironside still has the fanbase to truly launch this show?

Laura Allen (The 4400, All My Children, Dirt, Terriers, Awake)...Alison Dunn
Perrey Reeves (Entourage)...Danielle Deaver
Olivia Luccardi (Sailor Moon the Movie)...India Deaver

about: A murder in Suburban California reveals many secrets.

Does it Fit the Network: If Deception is a hit, then it could be paired with it. If it isn't, then it's questionable. This seems more like an ABC show to me.
Will it Be Good: When the writer is mostly known for producing kid programs then there is a small sign to worry-but it has nabbed a good director, Bruckheimer sees something in the project, and it has gotten a pretty good cast.
Will it Be a Hit: There's a chance this could be the next Desperate Housewives but I wouldn't bet on it.

Name: The Sixth Gun
Creator: Ryan Condal (Writer of Plurality)

James LeGros (Living In Oblivion, Sleeper Cell, Ally McBeal, Mercy)...Bill John O'Henry

Chin Han (Masters of the Sea, 3 Needles, The Dark Knight, 2012, Restless, Contagion, Last Resort)...Chow

Elena Satine (Magic City)...Missy Hume

about: An innocent girl (Laura Ramsey) must partner up with a shadowy gunfighter (Michiel Huisman) to protect the most dangerous gun from an otherworldly power.

Does it Fit the Network: This is a tough question as it does have supernatural elements-but westerns haven’t really found a new home since the genre crashed and burned.
Will it Be Good: This might be or it might be a mess-it depends on the writing, casting, and direction.
Will it Be a Hit: Yeah, no. Adding to the fact that westerns on television is basically a dead genre but adding a supernatural twist that only a small portion of the population is going to get excited for and I’ll be shocked if this is a hit.

Scott Eastwood (Pride, Gran Torino, Shannon's Rainbow, Invictus, The Lion of Judah, Trouble with the Curve, Texas Chainsaw 3D)...Nicole

Tania Raymonde (Malcolm in the Middle, Lost, Death Valley, Texas Chainsaw 3D)...Jim

About: The cops in Chicago.

Does it Fit the Network: It's a spin-off to a relatively successful show for the network so it fits.

Will it Be Good: Chicago Fire is a solid show and there's no reason that Dick Wolf won't create another solid procedural.

Will it Be a Hit: Chicago Fire might be doing well but it's not really a hit and it's only in it's freshman season. Spin-offs rarely do as well as the original which ultimately casts a lot of doubt on this show-which will struggle even more since the fanbase for Chicago Fire isn't as established. It might be the network jumping the gun out of desperation...or taking a huge risk that pays off.

about: An idealist secret service agent (Lance Gross) who finds himself in the middle of an international crisis on his first day on the job. I hate it when I begin work with a huge crisis.

Does it Fit the Network: This could easily fit into the network’s continual attempt to have the next big “event” television.
Will it Be Good: A bit early to tell but Rand Ravich can be a good writer.
Will it Be a Hit: If the marketing is right, it might draw a lot of eyeballs for the premiere-and it’ll be up to the show to hook them.

Matt Weinberg

Cast:

TBD

About: Clara goes to Wonderland and wages war with the current reigning queen, the girl formerly known as Alice.

Does it Fit the Network: It fits NBC's attempts at creating a genre hit.

Will it Be Good: Too early to tell.

Will it Be a Hit: It has the Alice in Wonderland brand which helps.

about: A bachelor man-child (David Walton) and the young boy (Benjamin Stockham) who moves in next door with his crazy single-mom (Minnie Driver).

Does it Fit the Network: This could fit in with Up All Night except it's going to be single-camera comedy. The network might try to pair it with the New Normal or 1600 Penn if those come back.
Will it Be Good: If anybody can turn About a Boy into a consistently funny and great television comedy it's going to be Jason Katims. He's done it before with Friday Night Lights and Parenthood.
Will it Be a Hit: It might be a hit for the network-at the very least it should do well enough to get renewed.

about: An idealistic assistant (Krysten Ritter) and her daily efforts to deal with her colleague (Zach Cregger), her fiance (Peter Cambor), and her demanding boss (Alfred Molina).

Does it Fit the Network: This could fit the Thursday night comedy block.
Will it Be Good: A bit early to tell but this at least has some promise as the behind-the-scenes talent can at times be really funny.
Will it Be a Hit: It'll need a big star and a good timeslot but this show has a chance of being a hit.

About: It follows the journey of a woman at two different stages of her life: as a chubby but confident 13-year-old and as a quirky 31-year old

Does it Fit the Network: This high-concept drama wouldn't really fit anywhere.

Will it Be Good: It sounds like a nifty idea but there's some concern that it might be too unfocused to work.

Will it Be a Hit: It's a tough sell and might very well be a cult comedy.

about: The hijinks that apparently happen when parents drop off and pick up their kids each day at school.

Does it Fit the Network: This could fit Guys with Kids except that it's a single-camera project.
Will it Be Good: Big Day and 'Til Death are some of the worst comedies from the last decade. The chance of this being good is very low but it has managed to attract a couple of good leads.
Will it Be a Hit: It will probably suffer the same fate as Animal Practice.

Miranda Cosgrove (School of Rock, Drake & Josh, iCarly)...Evie

Daniel Stern (C.H.U.D., Diner, City Slickers, Home Alone films, The Wonder Years)...Tom McNeil

Ann Cusack (The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Maggie)...Connie McNeil

about: A woman (Christina Ricci) wakes up from a two-decade coma to discover she has a seventeen-year old daughter (Miranda Cosgrove)-which comes as a shock since she didn’t even know she was pregnant.

Does it Fit the Network: A family comedy? Eh, not really.
Will it Be Good: Dick Wolf might be a television veteran but I think this is his first venture into comedy. If so, he couldn’t have picked a better writer as Liz Brixius created a beloved dramedy on Showtime-but can she strike gold a second time, this time having to follow broadcast decency rules?
Will it Be a Hit: The concept might be a difficult one to market but it certainly could be-but I doubt it.

about: A group of friends that completely change after a plane crash.

Does it Fit the Network: Not really but it’s not like the network seems to care.
Will it Be Good: It’s nice to have a veteran writer working on this show but I’m waiting to see the cast.
Will it Be a Hit: Basically screams like a Friends clone with a plane crash. So, it’s possible but doubtful as Friends clones tend to suffer.

Name: Joe & Joe & Jane

Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters, 666 Park Avenue)…Joe Dougan

Sally Pressman (Army Wives)…Jane Waxman

Larry Wilmore (Emmy Winner, The Daily Show, Accidentally on Purpose, Happy Endings)…Walter
Lauren Lapkus (The Parent Project, Video Game Reunion, Are You There, Chelsea?, Orange is the New Black, Movie Boy)…Melissa Unger
Asif Ali (Up All Night, NCIS)…Matt Savage

about: A children's book author (Will Greenberg) caught between his wife (Sally Pressman) and his writing partner (Dave Annable).

Does it Fit the Network: I don't really see this fitting in anywhere.
Will it Be Good: One of the most difficult parts about pilots is trying to predict if they're any good. The behind-the-scenes talent behind this show are veterans but they've been unable to successfully launch a pilot for a couple of seasons. The cast isn't necessarily bad but only Larry Wilmore really inspires any kind of confidence in this project. At this point, I'd have to say that there's a chance but I'm doubtful.
Will it Be a Hit: This is a show that is eerily similar to a series called “Partners”-which only lasted a few episodes. That show flopped and I don't think that there's any reason to think this show won't follow suit.

Harold Perrineau (Lost, The Matrix films, Oz, Romeo + Juliet, The Unuusals, Sons of Anarchy, The Best Man, 28 Weeks Later, Zero Dark Thirty, The Edge)...Fred

Ava Deluca-Verley (The Way, Way Back)...Katie

about: A son (Eli Baker) idolizing his blind father (J.K. Simmons) and his mom’s (Parker Posey) newfound adolescence post-divorce. Loosely based on Nash’s life.

Does it Fit the Network: Yeah, not really.
Will it Be Good: It might be but it’s a bit early to tell. I’m not sold on the premise, either.
Will it Be a Hit: Doubtful at this stage.

Briga Heelan (Cougar Town, Jane By Design)...Maddie (Guest Star)

Mathew Wilkas (Gayby, The New Twenty)...Brett

About: Two very different guys (Brent Morin/Chris D'Elia) who repel women.

Does it Fit the Network: I'm not sure if this multi-camera comedy could really fit anywhere...maybe with Guys with Kids?

Will it Be Good: Bill Lawrence has a chance of ensuring this project doesn't suck but I doubt even he can salvage what sounds to be a terrible comedy.

Will it Be a Hit: This sounds like a bomb.

Amandla Stenberg (Colombiana, The Hunger Games)...Irene

Jean Smart (Emmy Award Winner, Designing Women, 24, Samantha Who?, Hawaii Five-O, Harry's Law, Static Shock, Youth in Revolt, Garden State, Sweet Home Alabama)...Jeannette

About: A talented musician (Craig Robinson) who has to adjust to his new life of teaching middle school students.

Does it Fit the Network: This could actually fit into the NBC Thursday night comedy.

Will it Be Good: It might be as Robinson can be funny on the office but I'm not sure he's really “series lead” material.

Will it Be a Hit: Probably not but it might do just well enough to reach syndication.

Name: Untitled Jessica Simpson Project
Creator: Nick Bakay (writer for The Dennis Miller Show, In Living Color, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, the Kind of Queens, 'Til Death and co-wrote Zookeeper and Paul Blart: Mall Cop)
Other:

Nick Bakay
Robin Bakay (writer for Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and What's So Funny)
Jessica Simpson (producer of Jessica Simpson: The Price of Beauty)
Joe Simpson (producer of Women's Murder Club, Jessica Simpson: The Price of Beauty, and the Ashlee Simpson Show)
Ben Silverman (producer of 30 Days, House of Boateng, Kath & Kim, Ugly Betty, The Tudors, Mob Wives: Sit Down, Massholes, The Office, The Biggest Looser, and K-Town)
Jimmy Fox (producer of Mob Wives, King of the Nerd)

Cast:
Jessica Simpson (Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, The Dukes of Hazzard, Employee of the Month, Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous, Fashion Star, the Price of Beauty)

about: A comedy inspired by Jessica Simpson's life.

Does it Fit the Network: It depends on what exactly this inspiration is.
Will it Be Good: Doubtful. Jessica Simpson might be a huge star worth $100 million but the talent behind this is dubious at best.
Will it Be a Hit: Jessica Simpson has a pretty large fanbase so this show should at least initially get a lot of eyeballs.

Name: Untitled John Mulaney Project

Cast:

John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update, Best Week Ever)...John

Elliot Gould (Academy Award Nominee, M*A*S*H, The Long Goodbye, Friends, Ocean's Eleven films, E/R)...Alfred

Martin Short (Emmy Nominee, SCTV, Saturday Night Live, Three Amigos, Innerspace, Pure Luck, Jungle 2 Jungle, Marts Attacks!, Father of the Bride films, Damages)...Lou

Griffin Newman (Political Animals, Gravity, Big Lake, Blue Bloods, The Treatment, Beware the Gonzo, Beneath)...Seymour

Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live)...Jane

Seaton Smith...Motif

About: Ensemble comedy loosely based on Mulaney's life.

Does it Fit the Network: The network keeps trying to go back to the multi-camera approach but they fail to fit into the current network brand.

Will it Be Good: To early to tell as I'm not very familiar with Mulaney.

Will it Be a Hit: It might be but I don't think Mulaney has the following to really launch a hit.

Name: Untitled Michael J. Fox Project

Sam Laybourne
Richard Schwartz (producer of Eagleheart, Outlaw)

Cast:
Michael J. Fox (Emmy and Golden Globe Winner, Back to the Future trilogy, Family Ties, Spin City, Causalities of War, Stuart Little, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Good Wife)...Mike Burnaby

Jack Gore (We Are what We Are)...Graham Burnaby

Ana Nogueira (The Battery's Down, Babby Daddy)...Kay

Juliette Goglia (That's So Raven, CSI, Shake It Up, Easy A)...Eve Burnaby

about: A father and husband (Michael J. Fox) dealing with life and Parkinson's disease. Inspired by the life of Michael J. Fox.

Does it Fit the Network: Not really as NBC doesn't really have family comedies.
Will it Be Good: It does worry me that it seems a bit like the Mindy Project: a show that tries to be too many things at once for it to properly work. Just like that show, it has managed to acquired a pretty good cast.
Will it Be a Hit: Fox was a major star back in the eighties and early nineties but it's to be seen if he's able to launch a series in this young decade.

Name: Untitled Robert Padnick Project
Creator: Robert Padnick (writer for the Office)
Other:
Director: Kyle Newacheck (director for Workaholics, Community, Parks and Recreation, Happy Endings)

Tracy Katsky (producer of Help Me Help You and Lucky Louie)
Howard Klein (producer of Carnivale, The Starter Wife, King of the Hill, the Mindy Project, The Office, and Parks and Recreation)

Cast:
Adhir Kalyan (Fair City, Aliens in America, Rules of Engagement)...Arthur

Ellen Woglom (Californication, Outlaw, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, Hated)...Maggie

Eric Andre (The Eric Andre Show, Level Up, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23)...Teddy

Mike Castle (The Ghosts, Pittsburgh Frank)...Hirsch

about: A group of friends in their twenties as they experience dating.

Does it Fit the Network: It might have if this was still the days when “Friends” and “Cheers” was on this network but not anymore.
Will it Be Good: A bit early to tell but it does have some strong creative juice behind it.
Will it Be a Hit: “Friends” clones like this can have a hard time succeeding as it's going to need to find a way to distinguish itself.

Name: Untitled Sean Hayes Project

Green-lit to Series

Creator: Victor Fresco (Emmy Nominee, creator of Better Off Ted and Andy Richter Controls the Universe)
Other:
Director: James Burrows (Emmy-winning director for Mike & Molly, 2 Broke Girls, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Frasier, Friends, Cheers, Partners)
Producers:
Victor Fresco
Sean Hayes (producer of The Soul Man, Grimm, and Hot in Cleveland)
Todd Milliner (producer of The Soul Man, Grimm, and Hot in Cleveland)

Cast:
Sean Hayes (Emmy Winner, Golden Globe Nominee, Will & Grace, Martin and Lewis)…Sean

Samantha Isler...Ellie

Thomas Lennon (The State, Reno 911!)...Max

Lindsay Sloane (Bring It On, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Grosse Point, The Stones)...Liz

Linda Lavin (Golden Globe Winner, Emmy Nominee, Alice, the OC, Conrad Bloom)...Lorna

Echo Kellum (Ben and Kate)...Hunter

about: A man (Sean Hayes) must figure out how to parent a 14-year-old daughter (Samantha Isler) who just moved in with him and his new boss (Thomas Lennon) at work.

Does it Fit the Network: It could fit in with Up all Night actually-but it’s doubtful that show makes it. Maybe Guys with Kids?
Will it Be Good: A major problem I can already see with this pilot: it is two different shows-a family comedy and a workplace one. This makes it more difficult to predict it will be any good but I do like Victor Fresco so I’m willing to give it a shot.
Will it Be a Hit: Sean Hayes is a decent star who can probably get people to check this show out.

Name: Welcome to the Family

about: A white family and a latino family are bonded together by an unplanned pregnancy. Hilarity ensues because of culture differences!

Will it Be Good: Doubtful. Remember that Schneider comedy Rob?
Will it Be a Hit: Hopefully not.

Jerry O'Connell has been casted in Ex Men.

All the pilots for each network so far has been added. Pilots will be added over the next month or so as they are added. Casting for them should also begin soon.

Feel free to discuss any pilot you're excited or already hating.

I'm interested in Do No Harm from NBC. Looks pretty good, but it probably won't last like Awake. I'll give it a shot, though.

And so it goes, and so it goes. And the book says, "We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us."

and then when do they go on the air...or how long do they take to start????

Guess some start in the summer and then when are the other 2 seasons during the year????

PS. It used to be easy as there were 2 seasons during the year, which did about 24 original episodes and then they repeated the same 24 in the second part of the year...which was before there were so many reality shows on tv.

1) Fall 2012 is when the season starts. Some shows premiere in the winter/spring to replace shows that flopped.

2) Very few start in the summer.

3) What? Not sure if that's true in another country (the American broadcast network television system is unique in the world and it functions differently) , but the only time American television really has ever gone to repeats is the weeks around Christmas and the Summer.

Not sure if that's true in another country (the American broadcast network television system is unique in the world and it functions differently) , but the only time American television really has ever gone to repeats is the weeks around Christmas and the Summer.

Yup, that is how it used to be done. Maybe it ended in the 80s and not the 90s, but it was always big prior to that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rerun > It you want to read up on the history...it has, for example... And I was talking about the hiatus rerun.* There are two types of reruns—those that occur during a hiatus, and those that occur when a program is syndicated. Reruns can also be, as the case with more popular shows, when a show is aired outside of its timeslot (e.g. in the afternoon).* This is often done for headliner shows because the length of the year (52 weeks) is far more than the length of a pick-up (from six to 13 episodes - usually one per week) or a full season (usually from 22 to 24 episodes or weeks).

I have read up on the history. Heck, I've taken whole classes on it. The only "repeat" times that exist are Christmas weeks (mid-season break) and the Summer (breaks between seasons). This remains true today.

You stated that this "Second" season (which I imagine was really the summer) ended before the 80s and 90s. Before the eighties, the average season order for a show was actually around 32 episodes.

Then they slowly started cutting back the number of episodes per season when they realized it was cheaper to show a repeat every few weeks then to make so many new episodes.

I wouldn't say the US system is totally unique. It's fairly similar to here although with the seasons reversed.
