FF needs to evolve. How about this?

Hobbs - Dom, I need your help again. But this is worse than last time. We gonna need more men.

Dom - I know a guy. I'll give him a call.

Dom - Ey, I got a mission for ya.

"We Own It", the Fast and Furious 6 theme song by Wiz Khalifa and 2 Chainz, has climbed to number TWO on I-Tunes in America! It should get radio airplay soon. This is great because it's free publicity for Fast Six and it being at #2 is remarkable consider yesterday it was at #6 and also considering that its probably been illegally downloaded a lot. People will here the song, see the cover, google Fast 6, and discover the goodness. I love the song myself.

DID YOU SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA 2? I DID. THE FIRST ONE WAS A PILE OF DOO DOO, BUT WAS THE SECOND ONE? WAS IT A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT OVER CA:TFA AND OTHER MARVEL MOVIES? OR IS IT JUST ANOTHER DUMP? PLEASE CHECK OUT MY SPOILER FREE REVIEW AND FIND OUT!

Fast and the Furious proves more that ever that Diversity sells.  Hollywood does not have a great history when it comes to diversity in film.  Seeing a multi-cultural cast on a huge blockbuster franchise like this is refreshing.

Do you guys think that Studios will look at the FF franchise and pay closer attention to diversity in their movies? I mean is there a single existing race that hasn't shown up at some point in these movies? Its just great to see funny, likeable kick ass characters of all colors in a movie. A small part of me dies whenever i see big budget ensemble movies that are just loaded to the teeth with white males like Inception and Avengers.

Does Hollywood ever learn? Look at the perpetual surprise that movies headlined by women can actually make money even when the silent movie days had female box office draws, and women are half the population. So even though the movie business has been about chasing after whatever will get the most young men into theaters, the changing US demographics will probably do less than people hope to make mainstream movies more diverse in a real way, unfortunately. Too many of the people currently holding the power in the movie world think of "diversity" as throwing one or two stars of color into a project and calling it a day. If more movies like Life of Pi or F&F make serious bank overseas then Hollywood might consider it less of a "risk" to branch out a little more. That is likely to happen before there is a huge demo shift in the people actually directing movies (though that is opening up a bit), making casting decisions and running studios.

There was diversity in Tokyo Drift...But none of the original cast. So it's not like the United Colors of Benetton sold this movie, let's be serious here...

But it certainly doesn't hurt when there's diversity.

Going to watch 2fast,fast and and furious and fast five today

My two favorites aside from Furious 6. 2 Fast 2 Furious just delivers unintentional entertainment by the ton. Fast Five's likely the best straight action flick of 2011. Enjoy...
